‘Piya O Re Piya’ song featuring Atif Aslam from the upcoming movie “Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya” is finally released by Tips India!

South Asian-Canadian fusion band Josh came to Lahore to film the second music video from their recently released album Beyond Kismat. According to the band members, the album has already become a glittering success and sold over 55,000 albums in four weeks. The band was on the rooftop of Mian Yousuf Salahuddin’s haveli trying to reincarnate Delhi in the city of Lahore. The single “Yeh Zameen”, which is being directed by Maram and Aabroo, was actually composed by Rahul Dev Burman in 1982. The song has been modernized and given a ‘Josh twist’.

Veena Malik is one of those rare celebrities that no matter how much you write about her, it’s never really enough. This is something huge for the actor and her cult followers who have exponentially grown after the FHM photo shoot and her verbal bash with a religious cleric over her antics in “Bigg Boss”. People might disagree that featuring in an item number is not that stylish of a break into Bollywood but with all due respect to the public sentiment, a Pakistani actor dancing her way into the Indian film industry is actually a big deal.

Her recent item number also brings back the memories of her old days. She featured in the remake of the 1966 ghazal “Baray Bemurawwat Hein” in which she plays a classical dancer and a mother of one. From playing the concerned mother in the revamped version of Pakistani ghazals to hosting “Hum Sab Umeed Sae Hain”, and finally adding herself to the league of Munnis and Sheilas, Veena has come a long way. We have heard of people who have made it big because of sheer talent and hard-work but this is someone who has really made a career out of controversies.

Raghav has redefined the term joy ride with his latest video, “Top Of The World”, which is the third single to release off his forthcoming album, The Phoenix. “TOTW” has impacted heavy on Canadian radio and now Raghav follows up with a stellar video to match the celebratory vibe of this latest smash.

“Top Of The World” was shot in Vancouver and directed by S6 Boy. Raghav says that he had a very specific vision in mind for the video:

84-year-old Mehdi Hassan has been ill for the last few years due to a serious lung condition thathas led to complications and breathing problems.

“He is still in the ICU and doctors are looking after him round the clock. All we can do now is pray for him and hope Allah gives him life,” said Hassan’s son, Asif Mehdi himself a singer.

The legendary singer, who was born into a family of traditional musicians at Luna village in Rajasthan in 1927 and the voice behind evergreen ghazals like Ab Ke Bichade and Patta Patta Boota Boota, had recently lost his voice due to his illness.

Asif said the doctors after analysing his condition put the ailing singer on a a ventilator. They conducted Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans and blood tests of the veteran singer.

Doctors said Hassan is suffering from chest and urine infection.

“He had trouble in breathing (on Tuesday). We immediately rushed him to the hospital. He is in ICU but there is no positive response from the doctors about his condition,” Arif said.

Hassan, who has been suffering from lung problems for the past twelve years, was on Tuesday night rushed to Karachi’s Agha Khan hospital’s ICU section.

Asif said that his father had been in very poor health for the last two years and the family had been feeding him through the tube because of his illness.

“We have been feeding him through tube for the past two years and for the past one month, he has even lost his voice, which mesmerized millions of his fans,” he added.

Breaking News! Three girls have died while a dozen were injured during a stampede that broke out in an Atif Aslam concert at Lahore’s Al-Hamra Cultural Complex.  Reports suggest that more people were accommodated at the venue than it’s maximum capacity.

It was confirmed by our sources that the stampede was caused by the news of a fake bomb.  Everyone rushed out to save their lives injuring others.

One of the attendees of the concert told various sources that management man-handled the rushing crowd which made the situation even worse.

“Today’s incident has left me in a state of shock and dismay. I am deeply saddened by what transpired after mondays concert. My deepest condolences to the victims and their families for the terrible loss that they have suffered and I pray that Allah will help them through this ordeal.” – Atif Aslam

Pop icon Sajjad Ali, who surprised everyone with his catchy number “Kir Kir” at “Coke Studio Season 4”, is now all set to make everyone hungry with his latest song “Qeemay Aalay Poore”. To some, Ali’s latest melody might sound like a not-so-witty version of “Aalu Anday” by Beyghairat Brigade, but the acoustic sound and the food metaphors are the only things the two have in common.

The song was aired on January 1 and is now being widely circulated on the social media.

“It’s one of the most unplanned songs I have ever made,” laughs Ali, who changed the dynamics of music in Pakistan with his album Babia 93 in 1993. “My daughter, who was playing the guitar on three chords, asked me if I could make something out of it and the first phrase that came to my mind was ‘Qeemay Aalay Poore’ because that’s her favourite dish.”

Ironically, the light and funny feel of the song has a very deep-rooted message which Ali says, comes in the last stanza when he sings about people who are deprived of basic necessities. “It’s necessary for any artist to have a message behind whatever he is doing,” says Ali. “We lose our sanity if we feel hungry at an odd time and don’t find anything in the fridge. What about all those thousands of people who are dying of hunger every day?”

Mixed reactions

While some find his latest venture amusing, other fans are disappointed and are of the opinion that the pop icon should have come up with something better following the success of “Kir Kir”.

“It is their right to criticise and I respect their opinions,” states Ali. “Some people even disliked ‘Kir Kir’ and thought that there was not much into that song. At the end of the day, I do what I feel like doing.”

This is the first ever acoustic number released by Ali and for the pop sensation, the message in the song and his daughter’s wish were above anything else. “I felt that the best way to convey the message is to keep the song as devoid of instruments as possible, hence I went for an acoustic number,” says Ali. “It was about telling my daughter that you can make a song on three chords as well,” states the proud father.

The maestro is with his family in Dubai these days, but living away from his homeland hasn’t stopped him from occasionally appearing in morning shows and contributing to “Coke Studio”. The next big thing coming Ali’s way is working for Bollywood, details of which the singer is not ready to share yet. “Yes, there are a number of projects lined up in Bollywood but fingers crossed for now,” says Ali excitedly.
