A Message From Merub Ali To Those Who Body Shame Her

The body shaming statements are abundant in Pakistani humor and even in the jokes made by professional comedians. When it comes to playing the major role in a movie or TV show, there is an expected level of physical attractiveness for both sexes. Leading ladies should be thin without being too thin, long hair should not be too long, and a fair complexion is a must. Furthermore, violators of even a single norm will be subject to scrutiny, criticism, and mockery. Just like that has been happening to Merub Ali.
Mooroo’s show featured Merub, who revealed that she’d dropped a lot of weight after a particularly rough year for her health. She’s making a concerted effort to get it back, but she recognizes that it will take time. Merub has been the target of numerous “too thin” jokes, but she has claimed that such comments do not affect her because she has a thick skin.
Merub now has a statement to make to her detractors. She’s on the record as saying that while she doesn’t take body shaming personally, she recognizes that others may read such comments and be severely affected. She also brought up the fact that she had a terrible health year, which led to her recent weight loss. All of her devotees were urged to treat others with kindness at all times.
