Ali Abbas, a renowned Pakistani television actor known for his exceptional performances in dramas such as “Khaali Haath,” “Fitrat,” and “Baylagam,” recently shared insights into his working dynamics with his father, Waseem Abbas, a celebrated veteran actor. During his appearance on Nida Yasir and Yasir Nawaz’s show, “Nadan Mezban,” Ali explained why he prefers not to share screen space with his father.
Ali Abbas elaborated that while he respects his father’s career and skills immensely, performing alongside him poses unique challenges. He described a past experience where they both appeared in a drama with intense scenes. Ali admitted that it was difficult for him to focus on his role because he couldn’t help but see his father’s expressive eyes, which made it hard to separate the character from the real-life relationship. This personal connection sometimes disrupts his ability to fully immerse in his performance, as the father-son dynamic takes precedence over the on-screen roles.
To address this issue, Ali mentioned a “deal” he and his father have made. They agreed that if they ever have to work together on the same project, they would avoid direct eye contact during scenes. This approach helps them maintain the necessary emotional distance to perform effectively. Despite the occasional professional challenge, Ali’s respect for his father remains undiminished, and he values their individual contributions to the industry.
