Ali Sethi, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy Excited for Pre-Oscars Party

The third annual South Asian Excellence pre-Oscars bash at the Paramount lot buzzed excitedly, setting the stage for Hollywood’s prestigious Oscars. Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, Ali Sethi, Kal Penn, Lilly Singh, Rupi Kaur, Richa Moorjani, Hannah Simone, Karan Soni, and Tan France animatedly celebrated at the event.

A standout moment occurred as filmmaker and advocate Sharmeen shared photos on Instagram, spotlighting South Asian representation at the Oscars.

She joyously championed South Asian nominees, celebrating their success and expressing gratitude to the hosts and designer Hussain Rehar for their roles in bringing everyone together.

Sharmeen dazzled in attire by Pakistani designer Hussain Rehar, adding to the event’s allure of unity and support within the community.

The pre-Oscars event, similar to last year’s hosted by Priyanka Chopra and Mindy Kaling with Paramount Pictures, honoured the achievements of South Asian talent in film.

Notable Pakistani stars like Saim Sadiq, Alina Khan, Apoorva Guru Chara, activist Malala Yousafzai and her husband Asser Malik, singer Ali Sethi, and actor-director Riz Ahmed also graced the occasion.

Asser shared an Instagram Story featuring the “Pakistani gang,” including Tan France, Maheen Khan, Rasti Farooq, and Ali Junejo.

Additionally, Sharmeen enjoyed a mini Ms. Marvel reunion with actors Zenobia Shroff and Saagar Sheikh, adding to the festive and supportive atmosphere of the party.
