Faiq Khan Discusses Politics in the Entertainment Industry

Faiq Khan, a renowned Pakistani actor celebrated for his roles in popular dramas like Bebak, Meesni, Deewar E Shab, and Jaan SE Pyara Juni, has recently spoken about his experiences in the entertainment industry. Known for his excellent acting skills, Faiq is also a devoted family man, happily married with two children. Though he rarely gives TV interviews, he recently appeared on Madeha Naqvi’s morning show Subh Ka Samaa and shared some candid thoughts about the industry.
During the show, Faiq Khan discussed the internal politics and discrimination he has faced in the industry. He revealed that he feels underrated and believes his potential has not been fully utilized. Faiq expressed frustration with how the industry operates, stating that it often ignores talented actors in favor of those who fit certain looks or have strong public relations.
Faiq mentioned, “I am thinking of leaving this industry. I might switch careers because I have set a high standard for myself, and if I can’t achieve it, I will step away. The industry has not recognized my abilities and seems more interested in superficial aspects like branded clothes or social status. It operates like a tribe system where only those who belong to certain groups get opportunities.”
He also pointed out that actors often need strong contacts to succeed. Faiq and Adnan Shah Tipu both agreed that the industry favors marketable actors over those with genuine talent. They noted that actors are sometimes celebrated more for their public image rather than their acting skills. Additionally, it has become common for actors to be cast together despite significant age.
