Hassan Jahangir Accuses Salman Khan of Copying His Style

During a candid appearance on the FHM podcast, Pakistani singer Hassan Jahangir claimed that Bollywood’s biggest names, including Salman Khan, drew inspiration from his trailblazing style.
“I was setting trends and creating styles even before Salman Khan became a star,” said Jahangir. “I was the first singer to throw off my shirt during a concert—a move later emulated by other stars.”
The Hawa Hawa singer, who admired Bollywood, noted a pattern in the industry where creative roles were divided. This realization led him to take a different path: “I decided early on to do everything myself—singing, writing, arranging music, and setting trends.”
While Jahangir admits to borrowing from Bollywood icons like Mithun Chakraborty and Jeetendra in his early years, he asserts that his hit song Hawa Hawa cemented his influence on both sides of the border, gaining popularity in Pakistan and India alike.
“After Hawa Hawa, I wasn’t just a star in Pakistan; I became a household name in India too,” he added.
