How Filling in for the Father’s Role Made Mathira Stronger Than Any Man

Mathira, a renowned model and mother of three, has shared her journey as a single parent since her divorce in 2018. Filling in for the father’s role made Mathira stronger, as she faced the challenges and pressures of raising her children alone. Her story is of incredible strength and resilience she found within herself and through the support of her children.

Filling in for the Father’s Role Made Mathira Stronger: The Dual Role of Parenting

Mathira emphasized that her sons have been her greatest source of support, helping her find strength in her dual role as both mother and father. “When the relationship with the father fizzles out completely, it’s up to the mother to take on the man’s role,” she explained. “To be a man, for a woman, that’s not her job. But when she becomes a man, she becomes stronger than a man.” This transformation, though challenging, revealed Mathira’s remarkable ability to adapt and overcome, making her stronger and more resilient than she ever imagined.

Confronting Societal Double Standards

Mathira also highlighted the double standards that single mothers face in society. She pointed out that while single fathers are often praised for their efforts, single mothers are met with skepticism and criticism. “When a single mother does something, instead of praising her, they wonder how many others were behind the scenes helping her. When a man does something good, we appreciate him, but when a woman is running a household, there are too many accusations against her,” Mathira noted. This societal bias adds to the already immense pressure on single mothers, making their journey even more challenging.

Additionally, Mathira revealed the severe depression she experienced after her third pregnancy, a struggle often ignored and dismissed by society. She stressed the importance of recognizing and understanding mental health issues, including postpartum depression, to support mothers better.
