Humayun Saeed Says He’s a ‘Love Guru’ Off-Screen Too

Leading actor Humayun Saeed, who is playing the lead role in the romantic comedy film Love Guru, revealed that he is not only a ‘love guru’ in the movie but also in real life, often advising people on matters of love and relationships.

While promoting the film in a recent interview with Mahira Khan, Saeed addressed various topics with host Waseem Badami. When Badami asked whether there had been any tension between the two actors—who are reuniting after a decade—Saeed clarified that he had offered Mahira multiple film roles over the years, including in Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2, Punjab Nahi Jaungi, and London Nahi Jaunga, but she turned them down.

Mahira confirmed his claims, explaining that she prefers not to work in masala or comedy films.

Responding to a question about Pakistan’s low film output, Saeed explained that filmmaking demands large investments. He noted that many producers wait for others’ projects to succeed before starting their own, which slows the industry’s progress.

When asked what makes someone a ‘love guru,’ Saeed said such a person advises others on how and when to fall in love—just like his character in the film. He added that he plays this role in real life as well, helping people navigate love. “Love can happen at any age and even more than once,” he said, “but it should be with one person at a time—otherwise, it’s not love, it’s a misadventure.”
