Madiha Imam Discovers Love While Traveling in Dubai

Wondering how to determine if your partner is the one? Actor and VJ Madiha Imam might have the perfect approach—travel with them and take notes along the way.
On Hina Altaf’s podcast, Madiha shared how exploring Dubai with her now-husband, Indian entrepreneur Moji Basar, helped her decide he was the right choice before tying the knot.
“I actually met my husband in Dubai,” the Dile Momin actor revealed. While staying with her sister in the UAE, she informed her mother about her plans to meet Moji, the man she wanted to marry. “I told my mother I needed to see the guy I wanted to marry and, to do that, I had to date him,” she said. Her mother, puzzled, asked, “What do you mean, date?”
Madiha explained that traveling together was the best way to truly understand him. “When you travel with someone, you learn so much about their manners and how they interact with others,” she shared. While they weren’t officially traveling together, their shared experiences in an unfamiliar environment revealed how they adapted and connected.
Secretly, Madiha took notes on Moji’s behavior during their time together. “I was observing and making notes, though he didn’t know,” she admitted with a laugh, adding, “He’ll probably know now!”
The experience not only strengthened their bond but also allowed Madiha to see Dubai in a new light. “It was the first time I properly explored Dubai. We saw everything together, even visiting Sharjah where my sister lived,” she recalled.
Her method clearly worked—the couple married in May 2023 in Dubai, the city that brought them closer. Reflecting on their connection during Faysal Quraishi’s podcast, Madiha described how Moji unexpectedly entered her life, leading to their whirlwind romance and eventual marriage.
Despite the joy, long-distance remains a challenge for the couple. “It’s not easy,” she confessed. “Fights that could be resolved quickly often drag on because of our phones. Long-distance is terrible. Sure, distance can make the heart grow fonder, but I’d much rather live with the person.”
In addition to her personal milestones, Madiha has continued to excel professionally, recently making her directorial debut with the drama Aeena. From her beginnings as a VJ to acclaimed performances in dramas like Mujhay Vida Kar, Dushmane Jaan, and the Bollywood film Dear Maya, Madiha has cemented her place as a dedicated and talented entertainer.
