Mariyam Nafees Defends Lahore Girls’ Act of Thrashing Salesman

Mariyam Nafees defends Lahore girls’ act of thrashing a salesman at a fuel pump tuckshop in Garden Town, sparking a debate on social media. The incident, which was initially portrayed as a case of sexual harassment by the girls, has seen contrasting narratives emerge as more details come to light.
Mariyam Nafees’ Stand for Lahore Girls’ Act of Thrashing a Salesman
Pakistani actor Mariyam Nafees took to social media to defend the actions of the girls involved in the incident. In a video statement posted on her Instagram stories, she explained that the girls resorted to physical confrontation as a last resort after the salesman allegedly made inappropriate comments about their bodies and character. Nafees emphasized that one of the girls was a personal friend, and none of them had any influential background to manipulate the situation.
According to Mariyam, the salesman began hurling abuses and using “filthy words” after the girls rebuked him for his comments. She asserted that the girls faced harassment due to their western attire and being out late at night, which fueled the unfortunate altercation.
Mixed Reactions
The incident has led to a polarized response on social media, with many supporting the girls’ claims of harassment, while others sympathize with the salesman, who has since been discharged by the police. Following the review of CCTV footage, authorities initially sided with the salesman’s version of events. However, after Mariyam’s public defense and the allegations of harassment, the police have initiated a re-investigation.
Mariyam Nafees also called for the release of the voice recordings from the fuel pump’s owner to provide proof of the alleged harassment. She stressed that her involvement aimed to shed light on the girls’ perspective, which she felt was being overlooked in the public discourse.
