During the interview, Mathira shared how she first discovered she had ADHD as an adult. She explained, “I came to know about ADHD when I was grown up. When I sought medical help, the doctor diagnosed me with it.” Mathira also discussed her initial treatment, stating she was prescribed medication but eventually stopped using it to avoid long-term dependency. Instead, she focused on managing the disorder through self-awareness and personal strategies, advising others not to shy away from seeking medical help when needed.

Advocating for Mental Health Awareness

In addition to discussing her own experience, Mathira emphasized the importance of understanding cognitive and mental disorders, particularly in children. She noted that many children suffer unnecessarily because parents may not know how to properly handle their needs. Mathira urged parents to learn how to channel their children’s energy in positive ways rather than placing pressure on them. “It’s about managing it wisely,” she said, encouraging an empathetic approach to handling cognitive disorders.
