Nida Yasir’s Morning Show Defended by Acclaimed Writer Amna Mufti

Amna Mufti, a well-known Pakistani writer famous for her thought-provoking dramas, recently came to the defense of Nida Yasir and the content of her morning show, *Good Morning Pakistan*. Amna Mufti, known for writing issue-based dramas like *Dil Na Umeed Tou Nahi*, *Ghughi*, and *Akhri Station*, shared her thoughts during a podcast with Irfan Asghar.

In the podcast, Amna Mufti explained that Nida Yasir’s morning show is primarily created for a specific audience—housewives. She argued that the content is meant to provide light-hearted entertainment for women who spend their mornings doing household chores. According to Amna, after sending their husbands to work, many housewives find solace in watching shows like Nida Yasir’s while taking care of daily tasks.

Amna further explained that for these women, Nida’s show acts as a form of “me-time.” It offers them a break from their everyday routines and a chance to unwind. For example, she mentioned that something as simple as Nida Yasir’s Dubai shopping experiences can be more engaging and enjoyable for these women than the usual household chores they face. Amna added that this light content serves as a sort of “medicine” for housewives, helping them relax and escape their busy lives for a short while.

She also criticized intellectuals who often criticize such shows, saying that they overlook the needs of the average housewife who may not have access to other forms of entertainment. Amna emphasized that not every show needs to be educational or lesson-based, as sometimes people just need a simple form of entertainment to brighten their day.
