Problems Faced By Momal Sheikh While Growing Up Due To Father’s Absence

Momal Sheikh is the sister of superstar Shahzad Sheikh, the niece of Behroze Sabzwari, and the daughter of legendary icon Javed Sheikh; her uncle is Saleem Sheikh. She was born into a famous family and has followed in their footsteps to become a successful actor and star herself.

Though now photographs of Momal with her famous family are all gloss and glamour, this wasn’t always the case. Momal told Fuchsia in a recent interview that she and her brother Shahzad were raised by their mother, who was a single parent throughout her life.

Apparently, her father, Javed Sheikh, did not back his children. There were mornings when they did not have even 100 rupees to buy food. Momal went on to say that because she and Shahzad had not paid their school fee, there were moments when they were asked to leave the classroom.

Because of his celebrity status, Javed Sheikh’s shady past is common knowledge. The impact of that time on Momal’s life was discussed. She revealed that whenever their mother sent them to Lahore to see their father, he and his second wife would refuse to let them into the house. She and her brother Shahzad waited for their father to return from work each day on the balcony. But her mother was adamant that they maintain contact with their dad.
