Sania Mirza Seeks New Love Following Divorce from Shoaib Malik

Indian tennis star Sania Mirza, ex-wife of cricketer Shoaib Malik, is open to finding love again, months after their divorce.

Months after announcing her divorce from her ex-husband, Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik, Sania Mirza is seemingly all set to give another chance to her love life, as she confirmed in her latest TV appearance.

In the recently-dropped promo of the next episode of ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ on Netflix, featuring Mirza along with fellow female athletes of India, Mary Kom and Saina Nehwal, the former confessed that she is looking for a ‘love interest’.

When the host reminded her that Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan once said he would want to play her love interest in a biopic, Sania Mirza responded, “Abhi mujhe pehle love interest dhundna hai (I have to find a love interest first).”
Pertinent to note here that Mirza was married to Malik since 2010 until her father Imran Mirza confirmed in January this year – after the latter announced his third marriage with actor Sana Javed – that his daughter had sought separation from her ex-husband through Khula (the right of a Muslim woman to divorce her husband).

The unwanted attention, particularly in the wake of Shoaib’s shock wedding announcement earlier this year, may well be daunting, but the tennis star does not appear to let it show through on her social media persona, at least. Like her ex-husband, Sania often takes to Instagram to drop hints about her mental well-being, although she keeps details of her personal life under wraps.

Three days ago, Sania posted a photo of herself sitting in contemplation. Accompanying the photo, Sania penned the caption, “No matter what, you always have to show up”, showcasing the mental fortitude of an athlete committed to discipline. Her army of fans showered the comments section with heart emojis and messages about how Sania had been an inspiration to them. One fan took it a step further and, in a show of solidarity, wrote, “You glow different when you leave a toxic man.”
