Shabbir Jan Discusses Inequitable Award Distribution

Popular Pakistani actor Shabbir Jan has starred in a number of successful drama serials. His performances are praised, and all of his dramas are extremely popular. Shabbir Jan discussed the uneven allocation in the Award shows in a recent podcast with Nadir Ali.

When the host said, “You won a lot of PTV awards, but why didn’t you win any of the prior running prizes like Lux, Hum, or PISA?” Shabbir Jan answered, “Alhamdulillah, I got many PTV awards, but I don’t understand what should I do now to get an award. What work these people are doing upon which awards are being given to them, I haven’t gotten the idea that what should be done. It’s a saying that they just distribute sweets among their own loved ones, “You are good! I don’t understand the criteria since I don’t like awards, and our prize is public. Come, let me give you an award, or I’ll take you to Canada. It’s a significant honor, but you eventually get to a point where accolades are meaningless.

Speaking of the present programming, he expressed his dissatisfaction, saying that everyone is caught up in the TRP & Ratings war, and that as a result, the programming on television and morning shows has become so intolerable that viewers have taken to dancing. He claimed that the bar had been lowered.
