Social Media Will Criticize You Ruthlessly If You’re Real

Uzma Hassan, who recently received acclaim for her role in the popular drama series Khaie, appeared on Gup Shup with Fuchsia and participated in a candid interview discussing acting, showbiz, and family.

“I don’t filter my thoughts before speaking,” said the 45-year-old actress, smiling. “I express what’s in my heart, even if it may not be well-received.” Despite the discomfort some truths may cause, Uzma believes honesty shouldn’t necessarily cause harm.

Uzma Hassan further shared, “It’s easier to portray a character than to reveal oneself. Our society can be unforgiving, and I’m sensitive.” The Mannat Murad star described her struggles with social interactions, admitting, “I experience anxiety when asked to post shout-outs.”

“There’s a fear because there’s no acceptance [in our society] of people as individuals with whatever flaws they have. As long as someone is real, we are ready to whip out our knives and swords, and if we can’t find them, we have the internet,” Uzma described the unwelcoming spirit that pervades the social fabric.

Even though she received requests to conduct acting workshops and sessions, she emphasized that teaching is a distinct art form from acting. “I haven’t formally studied acting from books; I’m solely relying on instinct,” she remarked. Uzma believes that to excel as an actor, one must let go of their self and fully embody the character. She explained, “While you can retain certain aspects of your personality, it’s crucial to immerse yourself in the character’s mindset.”
