Sohai Ali Abro, a talented and outspoken actress, has criticized the trend of performative celebrity activism. After taking a break to get married and welcome her first child, Sohai is now making her comeback. She recently appeared in “Gentleman” and will soon be seen in “Farrar” as well as an upcoming film.
Sohai, who is not very active on social media, recently shared her views on considering social messages when choosing drama roles. She stated that while having a social message is important, actors are not activists, and her primary focus remains on entertainment. She also expressed her dislike for speaking out too much, noting how some celebrities jump on trending issues only to forget them the next day.
She mentioned that she does not support activism that only lasts while an issue is trending, which is why she is cautious about speaking out on any topic.
