Tauqeer Nasir is a well-known Pakistani actor and has also served as the Director General of the Pakistan National Council of Arts. He has starred in many popular dramas such as Yaad Piya Ki Aaye, Thakan, Baal o Par, Kashkol, Sona Chandi, Landa Bazaar, Rahain, Reza Reza, Panah, Aik Haqeeqat Aik Afsansa, Samandar, and Dehleez. For his contributions to art and culture, he has been honored with the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz and Sitara-e-Imtiaz by the government of Pakistan.
Recently, Tauqeer Nasir appeared on Samaa TV’s show Coffee with Samaa, hosted by Naeem Hanif. During the show, Nasir shared an interesting story about an audition he conducted. He revealed that he once auditioned the acclaimed actress Saba Qamar but chose not to select her for the role.
Nasir spoke highly of Saba Qamar’s acting skills, particularly praising her performance in the drama Thakkan. However, he mentioned that during the audition, he felt that Saba was not fully committed. He described how she delivered her lines quickly and seemed rushed, even admitting she was in a hurry.
Nasir explained that at the time, he was looking for new actors for a drama series on ARY Digital and wanted to choose people who would be dedicated for the long term, as he planned to involve them in his acting academy. Although Saba Qamar is a talented actress, he decided not to select her based on her performance in that particular audition.
