Usman Mukhtar Defends His Controversial Role in Jafaa

Usman Mukhtar’s performance as Dr. Numair in Hum TV’s hit drama Jafaa has captivated fans, sparking online debates over a scene where his character takes his newborn for a DNA test.

The moment fueled social media discussions, and Usman, after reading the feedback, defended Numair’s actions. He explained, “Numair’s journey isn’t perfect, and he’s not handling things well, but imagine the impact of such news on someone who thought he was infertile his whole life.”

He also addressed Andaleeb’s reaction, noting her response was justified: “She’s unsettled by Numair’s unpredictable behavior. When my wife, Zunaira, heard about the DNA test, she said, ‘If I were in her place, I would’ve broken your face!’”

Usman chose the Jafaa script for its focus on issues like domestic violence and infertility, subjects often stigmatized or overlooked. On Instagram, he posted, “I know everyone’s frustrated with Numair, but sometimes we overlook personal struggles, especially those men face under societal pressure to stay strong. Trauma isn’t a one-size-fits-all journey, and Jafaa last night highlighted the silent battles that shape us.”
