Pakistani Artist: Father of Indian actress Tabu?

Renowned Indian actress Tabu hails from Pakistani actor Jamal Hashmi. He rose to fame in the 1970s, introduced by Ali Affan Siddiqui in the Pakistani film industry.

Siddiqui chose Jamal Hashmi for his movie ‘Sazaa,’ creating a buzz with Hashmi’s compelling role. Hashmi later adopted the name Jameel Hashmi.

He married Rizwana, linked to Indian actress Shabana Azmi, and they relocated to Lahore. Marital struggles led Hashmi to India, where they had two daughters, including Bollywood star Tabu.

Born in 1971, she entered the Indian film scene, causing a rift with her father. Despite opposition, she continued her successful acting career.

Jamal Hashmi, staunchly against Tabu’s acting, chose seclusion. She, at 52, remains celebrated for her versatile and captivating performances in the film industry.
