Zara Noor Abbas and Asad’s Healing Journey After Stillbirth

During a local channel’s Ramazan transmission, celebrity couple Zara Noor Abbas and Asad Siddiqui shared their journey into parenthood, reflecting on their experiences of loss and the joy of welcoming their daughter, Noore Jahan.
They openly discussed the emotional complexities of becoming parents, highlighting their priority of having a healthy child over any gender preference.
Asad recalled the profound impact of losing their firstborn son, Aurangzeb, who was stillborn in 2021. This heartbreaking loss shaped their perspective during their next pregnancy. He shared, “I just wanted a healthy baby because we had recently lost one. And he was our baby boy; we had even named him—Aurangzeb—and shopped for him. So when we were expecting again, I instinctively assumed it would also be a baby boy because our minds were prepared for one from before.”
“But then Noore Jahan came into the picture, and she’s like our baby boy,” he added affectionately. While recalling how they named their daughter, the couple revealed that Asad’s late father had suggested the name Noore Jahan after considering names like Jahan Ara and Noor Jahan.
Zara first spoke publicly about their stillbirth experience in a 2022 podcast with Freiha Altaf, calling it a life-changing event. Since then, she has actively encouraged open discussions on pregnancy loss, urging women to support one another. That same year, Asad reflected on their grief, emphasizing the role of faith in their healing and urging people to be more mindful before commenting on others’ personal struggles.
After marrying in 2017, Zara and Asad faced the devastating loss of their first child in 2021. They joyfully welcomed their daughter, Noor Jahan, in March last year, announcing her birth on social media: “Alhamdulillah, we announce ourselves as Amma and Abba to the most beautiful baby girl in the world, Noore Jahan Siddiqui.”
