Waseem Abbas Reveals The Challenges Of Being Rejected By PTV For His Looks
Recently, Waseem Abbas appeared on Hina Niazi’s show “Suno To Sahi”. During the show, he discussed facing multiple rejections in the early days of his career and revealed that people ridiculed him for his looks.
Talking about it, Waseem Abbas said, “I have seen multiple rejections; first, I was badly rejected by Radio. I was quite rudely rejected by PTV. Yawar Hayat rejected me and said that he can never be an actor; his face is not okay, he can’t look good on screen, and he doesn’t have a good voice. He urged me to pursue direction and production. I was deeply depressed because I was young; I used to watch the mirror and used to feel upset about it. On the radio, Irfan Khoosat rejected me; they said Waseem is the worst; he can’t be corrected even by hard work.”
He further said, “I joined the stage where Irfan Khoosat appointed me as assistant. Anwar Ali, who used to play heroes, replaced me for one of his leading characters; it was my first break. He further added that rejection should be tolerated in life because you can’t do anything about it”.
