concerns of Adnan Siddiqui
Adnan Siddiqui voiced his disappointment over the remix, criticizing it as disrespectful to the beloved classic. He shared his views on social media, stating, “Imitation may be flattering, but not when it tears apart a classic by a legend. Show some respect to Reshma Jee and her legacy, not reduce it to a sordid ripoff.”
Written by Kausar Munir and sung by Shilpa Rao, the remake has left many fans feeling that Reshma’s original magic has been lost.
Reshma, known for timeless hits like Laal Meri, Hai O Rabba Nahion Lagda Dil Mera, and Lambi Judai, passed away in 2013 after battling throat cancer.
Kriti Sanon’s film Do Patti, directed by Shashanka Chaturvedi and written by Kanika Dhillon, released on Netflix on October 25, 2024. The cast includes Kajol, Tanvi Azmi, and Shaheer Sheikh.
