Ahsan Khan Clears the Air on Dayan’s Pill Controversy

Renowned Pakistani actor Ahsan Khan has finally broken his silence on the much-discussed controversy surrounding his character in Geo TV’s popular drama Dayan. Known for his stellar performances in acclaimed serials such as Udaari, Dastaan, Mujhe Khuda Pe Yaqeen Hai, and Fraud, Ahsan is currently winning hearts with his portrayal of Zawar Shah in Dayan. However, a particular plot twist in the drama recently drew unexpected attention from both audiences and industry veterans.

The controversy started when veteran celebrities Atiqa Odho, Nadia Khan, and Marina Khan openly discussed a scene involving Zawar Shah, suggesting that the pills used by his character were meant for sexual enhancement. Their remarks sparked a flurry of online memes and public discourse, casting a shadow over the storyline’s actual intent.

Responding to the ongoing chatter, Ahsan Khan dismissed the assumptions and provided a clear explanation. “What are you talking about?” he laughed during a recent interview. “The character Zawar had to form a connection with Nihal because his marriage to her served a specific plot purpose. To facilitate this, a maid secretly gave Nihal painkillers—not what people assumed. We even explained this clearly in the storyline.” Ahsan emphasized that while the speculation led to awkward moments, including the circulation of memes with pill bottles and his photos, he took it all in good humor.

“I have immense respect for Atiqa, Nadia, and Marina. They made a lighthearted comment, and I didn’t take offense,” he added. Ahsan also acknowledged how social media tends to amplify controversies, but such issues usually fade away within weeks. His grounded response not only cleared misconceptions but also demonstrated his professionalism and humility in the face of viral criticism.
