Bushra Ansari: Parents Share Blame for Domestic Abuse

Veteran Pakistani actress Bushra Ansari has stirred discussions with her strong statements on the rising domestic abuse cases against married women, claiming that “parents responsible for domestic abuse” are partly to blame. Her remarks come amidst a surge in domestic violence incidents, such as the viral case of news anchor Ayesha Jahanzeb, who suffered severe abuse.
Parents Responsible for Domestic Abuse; Says Bushra Ansari
In a video shared on her YouTube channel, Ansari highlighted that parents often know about the abuse their daughters face but remain silent, exacerbating the situation. She argued that parental inaction enables the continuation and escalation of violence. Ansari stressed that it is crucial for parents to intervene at the first sign of abuse and, if necessary, bring their daughters back home to ensure their safety. She cited the tragic cases of Ayesha Jahanzeb and Sania Zehra to highlight the severe consequences of ignoring such abuse.
Empowering Women Through Independence
Ansari also emphasized the importance of financial and personal independence for women. She encouraged women to learn skills and become self-sufficient, which would empower them to leave abusive relationships. According to Ansari, enduring violence for the sake of marriage is never justified; women should prioritize their safety and well-being. She urged women to rely on their capabilities and to fearlessly leave abusive environments, as no relationship is worth compromising one’s life.
