“I Stand Firmly with Diljit”: Naseeruddin Shah Backs Sardaar Ji 3

Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah, known for speaking his mind without fear, has voiced strong support for Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh amid backlash in India over Sardaar Ji 3, which features Pakistani actress Hania Aamir.

In a recent Facebook post, Shah backed Diljit, making it clear that the actor was not responsible for the film’s casting decisions. “I STAND FIRMLY WITH DILJIT,” he wrote, calling out political attacks on Dosanjh. “The dirty tricks deptt of Jumla Party has been awaiting a chance to attack him… He agreed to the cast because his mind is not poisoned.”

He didn’t shy away from criticising rising hostility between India and Pakistan either. “What these goons want is to put an end to personal interaction between the people of India and Pakistan,” Shah said. “I have close relatives and some dear friends there, and no one can stop me from meeting them or sending them love.”

To those who tell him to “go to Pakistan,” Shah responded sharply: “GO TO KAILASA.”

Meanwhile, Sardaar Ji 3, co-produced by Gambhir Singh Sidhu, Manmord Sidhu, and Diljit Dosanjh, is smashing box office records in Pakistan. It became the highest first-day grosser for any Indian film in the country, earning PKR 3.5 crore and surpassing Salman Khan’s Sultan.

Starring Diljit as a ghost hunter, the horror-comedy also features Hania Aamir, Neeru Bajwa, Gulshan Grover, Jasmin Bajwa, and Pakistani actors Nasir Chinyoti, Saleem Albela, and Daniyal Khawar. With global earnings crossing PKR 36.6 crores, the film’s success is expected to continue.
