Maria B Opens Up About Charges Disparity Between International Models and Pakistani Models

During an appearance on Hafiz Ahmed’s podcast, renowned Pakistani designer Maria B recently discussed the contrasting charges between international and Pakistani models. Sharing details of the complexities of the fashion industry, Maria B sheds light on the factors influencing the pricing structures for models.

Challenges Faced by Female-led Industry

Maria B highlighted the challenges faced by Pakistani models, noting that the field is tough for them due to limited opportunities and societal pressures. She acknowledged that parental reluctance to allow daughters to join the fashion industry contributes to the scarcity of local models, resulting in higher charges for their services.

Contrasting Charges Between International and Pakistani Models

Drawing comparisons, Maria B pointed out that international models often work for more affordable rates compared to their Pakistani counterparts. She explained that while international models typically charge around five hundred dollars per day, Pakistani models command higher fees due to the limited pool of talent and the competitive nature of the industry.

‘Some beautiful and internationally known Pakistani models also charge a hefty amount. Whereas, if we see international models, they charge per day, we can give them a hundred dresses to wear in a day, they charge around five hundred dollars per day, which isn’t a big amount. Pakistani models charge more,’ she added.
