Vasay Chaudhary’s Perspective on Imran Ashraf’s Hosting Mazaq Raat

“Mazaqraat,” a political satire show on Dunya TV, has undergone various changes since its inception. Initially hosted by Nauman Ijaz, with Mohsin Abbas Haider as the DJ and other comedians as co-hosts, the show gained popularity. However, Vasay Chaudhary later took over as host, infusing it with his humorous style and making it a hit.
In recent years, the show faced controversy when comedian Qaiser Pia made a joke about overseas Pakistanis, leading to tension within the Mazaqraat team. Consequently, Vasay Chaudhary and the team switched channels and found success with “Gup Shup” on Samaa TV. Meanwhile, Dunya TV continued “Mazaqraat” with Imran Ashraf as the host for its second season.
Recently, Vasay Chaudhary shared his thoughts on Imran Ashraf’s hosting of “Mazaqraat” during an interview on Public TV’s “Public Demand,” hosted by Mohsin Abbas Haider. When asked to rate Ashraf’s hosting, Chaudhary admitted to not having watched the show extensively but observed that it deviated from the signature format of “Mazaqraat,” suggesting it has evolved into a different show.
Chaudhary’s neutral stance on Ashraf’s hosting reflects his lack of exposure to the new format, acknowledging only brief glimpses. While refraining from offering a definitive opinion, he implies that the show’s essence may have shifted under Ashraf’s tenure.
