Momal Sheikh, a celebrated Pakistani actress, recently dubbed her family as “The Kapoor family of Pakistan” during her appearance on Ushna Shah’s show. Daughter of the legendary actor Javed Sheikh, Momal shared insights into her family’s prominent role in Pakistan’s entertainment industry. Drawing parallels with Bollywood’s Kapoor family, she spoke about how her relatives, including her father, brother Shahzad Sheikh, and uncle Saleem Sheikh, have all contributed to the film and television world.
Momal Sheikh on Her Family Being ‘The Kapoor Family of Pakistan’
While speaking on the show, Momal Sheikh explained her comparison between the Sheikh family and the Kapoor dynasty. She emphasized that much like the Kapoors in Bollywood, her family has become a cornerstone of Pakistani showbiz. The Sheikh family, alongside their relatives, the Sabzwaris, have collectively made their mark in the industry, with each member attaining individual success. According to Momal, the close ties and achievements of both families have earned them the title of “The Kapoor family of Pakistan.”
She fondly highlighted her family tree, mentioning how her father Javed Sheikh and uncle Saleem Sheikh are brothers, while renowned actor Behroze Sabzwari is her uncle through marriage. Together, they have built a strong legacy in Lollywood.
No Nepotism in the Sheikh Family
Despite the fame, Momal Sheikh clarified that unlike the Kapoors, her family does not practice nepotism. She shared that both her father and brother Shahzad Sheikh believe in earning success through hard work. While there may be strong family connections, the Sheikh family does not pave the way for each other in the industry. Momal revealed that her father has never made calls or pulled strings to get her roles, allowing her to carve her own path in the entertainment world.
