“Whether or not a woman smokes is none of your business,” Sadaf Kanwal declared during her candid appearance on an Eid special interview with IQE. Whether or Not a Woman Smokes is None of Your Business: Sadaf Kanwal
During the interview, Sadaf Kanwal made it clear that she is unapologetic about her beliefs and lifestyle. Addressing the criticism she often faces, she remarked, “I am not a fake person in any respect. I am what I am. You approach me, I will respond to you politely.” She elaborated on her experience with industry peers, noting that disagreements often lead to accusations of being insincere, which she firmly denies.
Kanwal did not shy away from discussing her views on personal freedom. Reflecting on her own experience with smoking, she stated, “I used to smoke but I have quit now. But you shouldn’t pass remarks on others.” Her message was clear: the choice to smoke is a personal one and should not be subject to public scrutiny or judgment. “Whether or not a woman smokes is none of your business. It’s her will to do whatever she wants. She’s not your sister or daughter. It’s her life,” she asserted.
Views on Pakistani Cinema
Beyond her stance on personal freedom, Kanwal shared her thoughts on the current state of Pakistani cinema. She praised directors Nadeem Baig and Nabeel Qureshi for their entertaining films, expressing her anticipation for their releases every Eid. “Their films have spice. They are fun to watch, it’s a good pastime,” she said, while also calling for more capable directors in the industry.
Sadaf’s message resonates with many who advocate for individual autonomy and respect, irrespective of societal norms.
