Sarah Umair Says She Slapped Director for Harassment

Actress Sarah Umair recounted a disturbing experience from her early career, revealing how she slapped a director in front of the entire crew and walked off set after he repeatedly touched her inappropriately during a drama shoot.

Speaking on Nida Yasir’s morning show alongside fellow actresses Areej Chaudhry and Maimona Quddus, Sarah detailed the harassment she endured while filming in a small town in Sindh.

“When the director touched me from under the table during dinner, I was shocked. I switched seats, but he did it again. That’s when I knew it wasn’t accidental,” Sarah said.

The following day, she said, the director used directions as a pretext to touch actors, including her. “When he touched my back, I snapped. I slapped him in front of everyone and told him, ‘I won’t work with someone like you.’”

Though she didn’t name the director, Sarah contrasted his behavior with that of respected figures like Kazim Pasha, saying, “He treated actors with respect—never crossed a line.”

Sarah Umair Returns to Lollywood

In a recent appearance on a private TV show, Sarah Umair shared that she quit working right after her marriage to focus entirely on her new home.

She explained that she had entered showbiz at the age of 17, but after getting married, she chose to prioritize domestic responsibilities. Although her husband, renowned drama director Mohsin Talat, never stopped her from working, she decided to step away from the industry on her own.

Sarah added that while she considered returning to acting several times, the birth of her two children shifted her full attention to motherhood. Now, she revealed, she has finally signed a new project, marking her official comeback to showbiz.
