Sunidhi Chauhan on Collaborating with Pakistani Artists: “I Truly Believe We Share a Lot in Common”

Sunidhi Chauhan, celebrated for her iconic tracks like ‘Ruki Ruki Si Zindagi,’ ‘Dhoom Machale,’ and ‘Beedi,’ recently shared her thoughts on working with Pakistani artists. During a conversation on Raj Shamani’s podcast, Sunidhi Chauhan on collaborating with Pakistani artists expressed her appreciation for the rich musical heritage shared by both nations. She highlighted the cultural and artistic similarities that make such collaborations so rewarding.

Reflecting on her experiences, Sunidhi said, “I’ve worked with many talented artists from Pakistan, and I truly believe we share a lot in common. Our languages, looks, and even our food and culture have so much in common.” She emphasized that the deep connections between India and Pakistan extend beyond mere geography. Sunidhi noted that meeting Pakistani artists in various countries always felt like reuniting with old friends due to their shared cultural heritage.

Sunidhi also mentioned the vibrant and dedicated nature of the Pakistani music industry. “Pakistani music has really taken off because it’s made with so much love and dedication. Their industry is vibrant, and their artists are celebrated widely, both in Pakistan and here in India,” she added.

Praises for Coke Studio Pakistan

Sunidhi praised the popular music show Coke Studio Pakistan, particularly lauding the song ‘Turi Jandi’ by Hassan Raheem and Shazia Mansoor. She was deeply impressed by the passion and creativity showcased in the music and its production. “I was absolutely blown away by the Coke Studio video for ‘Turi Jandi.’ The way they made the video, it’s unbelievable. The song itself is good, but the video made it better. It’s really lovely. I was truly taken aback,” Sunidhi remarked.

She acknowledged that while Pakistan’s film industry might not be as extensive as India’s, its music scene is flourishing. Sunidhi commended the dedication and love Pakistani artists pour into their craft, which has helped their music gain global recognition and appreciation.
