Syed Noor Explains Why Jannat Mirza Failed as a Film Actress

Syed Noor, a renowned Pakistani film director, gained fame in the 1990s with a series of hit films. His most acclaimed movie is “Choorian,” and he also received praise for “Majajan.” Over the years, Noor has introduced numerous stars who have become prominent figures in the film industry. He is happily married to actress Saima, after his first wife, Rukhsana Noor, passed away a few years ago. Recently, he directed the film “Tere Baajray Di Rakhi,” featuring Saima Noor and Jannat Mirza. Unfortunately, the film did not do well at the box office, and Jannat Mirza struggled to attract audiences.

In a recent interview with YouTuber Ambreen Fatima, Syed Noor discussed why Jannat Mirza failed to make an impact as a film actress. He explained, “Jannat is an educated girl from a well-off and learned family. She lacked the passion to be a film star, knowing she was already successful as a TikToker.
The film’s failure did not affect her much. I cast her because of my good relationship with her family and my fondness for her. We ensured she wore modest clothes and avoided bold scenes. Our intention was to draw her TikTok followers to the cinema. However, as Humayun Saeed predicted, they did not come. People are used to watching TikTok for free, so they didn’t feel the need to pay for a movie ticket. Jannat has already achieved significant success, and her followers are satisfied with her TikTok content.”
