Wasi Shah Encourages Youth to Take the Lead in Environmental Protection

Syed Wasi Shah, the Caretaker Minister of State for Tourism and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs, delivered a compelling message at the Prime Minister’s Green Enovate Conference, urging the youth to actively participate in the government’s initiatives to address the impacts of climate change. Speaking at the conference’s closing ceremony on liquid and solid waste management, Wasi Shah emphasized the key role of the younger generation in building a sustainable future for Pakistan.

Youth Engagement Crucial for Environmental Action: Wasi Shah

In his address, Wasi Shah highlighted the importance of raising awareness about climate change and its repercussions. Stressing the need for active involvement, he assured the youth of relentless support in their efforts to improve the environment. The Green Youth Movement, a flagship program under the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, emerged as a platform for employment and commendable service to the nation and humanity, particularly through initiatives to reduce environmental pollution.

Innovative Youth Solutions 

The event showcased the achievements of the Green Youth Movement, with youth clubs established in universities across the country. Wasi Shah commended the creative endeavors of young minds, particularly acknowledging the contributions of two individuals from Balochistan whose innovative idea of biodegradable shopping bags with AI features gained global recognition. By calling them on stage, the minister emphasized that success knows no geographical boundaries and is an inspiring message for the youth.

Wasi Shah’s call to action and recognition of innovative solutions underlined the government’s commitment to guiding youth toward environmental stewardship and entrepreneurship. The distribution of prize cheques to deserving individuals further highlighted the tangible support for youth-driven initiatives in environmental protection.
