Faysal Quraishi to Make Debut in Punjabi Cinema with ‘Mango Jatt

Faysal Quraishi’s inaugural Punjabi film is poised to grace the silver screens next Eidul Fitr. Filmmaker Abu Aleeha, renowned for Kukri, has revealed ‘Mango Jatt.’ 

This big-budget extravaganza is poised to redefine Punjabi cinema and will bring together a constellation of seasoned actors from Punjab and Sindh. In a telephonic conversation, the director Aleeha told The Express Tribune, “The movie is unique in the sense that it is casting experienced theatre actors from both Punjab and Sindh. It will be a stepping stone in uniting the provinces’ fan base.”

He further stated, “Leading this remarkable cast is the incomparable Faysal Quraishi, making his debut as a Punjabi hero by portraying the film’s titular character. The celebrated TV star’s track record attests to his extensive experience, with numerous blockbuster projects and shows to his credit.”

The script is already finalized, and the casting process is in full swing. Sources have confirmed that negotiations are currently ongoing with three A-list female stars for the coveted lead role. The selected female lead will infuse the movie with her charm and charisma through an exhilarating performance. The director added, “We’re also discussing the role of the protagonist in the film with three prominent female actors, and we have yet to make a final decision on the casting.”

Aleeha has released his movies on OTT platforms, garnering substantial international recognition and acclaim. To date, he has produced nine movies, with titles such as Kataksha, Sheenogai, Tevar, Udham Patakh, Shotcut, and Javed Iqbal, all leaving a significant impact on the cinema screens.
