Ms. Marvel To Be Co-directed By A Pakistani Filmmaker

After the whopping success of the character ‘Kamala Khan’ in the famous video game ‘Marvel’s Avengers’, the Ms. Marvel Disney+ Series has announced the names of those who’ll be a part of the eclectic directing team. Among the directors are Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, the popular duo behind the action-throwback ‘Bad Boy’s for Life’. Meera Menon, the Indian TV vet has also joined the team; she is known for directing episodes of Titans, The Punisher, and The Walking Dead.

Finally, we have a Pakistani filmmaker who’ll be a part of the team; the two-times Oscar Winner Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy. Sharmeen Obaid won the Oscar award for the documentary short category for ‘A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness’ and ‘Saving Face’.

Ms. Marvel is written by Bisha K. Ali, and it depicts the first Muslim and Pakistani superhero named ‘Kamala Khan’. The introduction of the Muslim Pakistani superhero has also been confirmed by the President of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige. According to rumours, the Canadian actress of Pakistani/Indian heritage, Saara Chaudry is going to play the role of the Pakistani-American woman. The Marvel Studios chief also confirmed that apart from appearing on the small screen, Kamala Khan will also join the Marvel films in the future.

All of these directors who have joined the helming roster for this Disney+ Series have a number of acclaimed titles under their name. This is an enthralling team of directors, and we all are too captivated to see how these minds will be reflected in this famous superhero series.
