ARY has zero tolerance policy on violence or threats of violence be it at the workplace or domestic.” As per the details outlined in the FIR, the complainant, identifying herself as a housewife, stated that on January 19, she visited her diabetic mother in Jinnah Garden, Model Colony. Concerns about her health prompted her to stay at her mother’s house until January 22.
Nomaika’s Disturbing Account Shares Horrific Details of Alleged Abuse
Nomaika, a former journalist and Satti’s 27-year-old wife, disclosed harrowing details of the alleged abuse she endured. From physical assaults to threats on her life, she painted a grim picture of her ordeal, asserting that Satti attempted to kill her and forcibly took away their one-year-old son.
The incident has not only sparked conversations about domestic violence within media circles but has also raised questions about the responsibility of news organizations in addressing such issues. Karachi police have formally booked anchorperson Ashfaq Ishaq over allegations of severely beating his wife, as disclosed in the FIR filed by Nomaika Tahir Mehmood.
Dr. Summaiya Syed, the police surgeon, reported that Nomaika underwent an initial examination on January 24 at the medico-legal section of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. She underwent a subsequent examination today at the medico-legal section of Civil Hospital Karachi at her request. Dr. Summaiya confirmed that all injuries were meticulously documented, and Nomaika has been advised to undergo relevant investigations. Additionally, she has been referred to consultant experts for their opinion following a thorough and comprehensive examination.
