Abrar Ul Haq Recalls His Funny Encounter With Honey Singh

Abrar ul Haq, fondly known as the “Bhangra King of Pakistan,” recently appeared on the Black Box podcast to discuss his career, life journey, and future plans.

Coming from a family of bureaucrats, army officers, and businessmen, Abrar broke the mold by pursuing music—a path no one in his family had taken before. Over time, he became one of the most beloved Punjabi singers across the subcontinent, with his songs becoming staples at weddings.

During the podcast, Abrar shared a humorous incident involving Indian rapper and singer Yo Yo Honey Singh, who enjoys significant popularity in Pakistan. Abrar recalled receiving a call from his manager, who informed him that a “woman” named Honey was interested in collaborating on a song. Assuming it was a mistaken or unusual request, Abrar declined. However, when his manager received another call, they discovered it wasn’t a woman but the celebrated Indian artist Honey Singh.

Once the misunderstanding was cleared, Abrar spoke with Honey Singh, and the two artists eventually collaborated on a track. The anecdote left podcast listeners amused and highlighted Abrar’s lighthearted approach to his career.
