Remembering Music Icon Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan on His 75th Birthday Anniversary

Millions of fans worldwide are commemorating the 75th birth anniversary of the music maestro and Qawwali king, Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. He was born in Faisalabad on October 13, 1948, into a family of qawwals.
Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was renowned for his unique blend of Eastern and Western musical styles. Further, he introduced qawwali traditions to the international stage, a legacy that endures. His versatility extended to qawwali, songs, ghazals, classical singing, and more.
Unprecedented Achievements and Honors of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan
Notably, he achieved international recognition and earned a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for the most enormous recorded output by a Qawwali artist, with 125 albums.
Importantly, some of his notable works include ‘Dum Mast Qalandar,’ ‘Wohi Khuda Hai,’ ‘Kise Da Yar Na Bichry,’ ‘Tumhy Dillagi Bhool Jani Parey Gi,’ ‘Jany Kb Hon Gy Kam,’ and ‘Tera Inam Pakistan.’
In recognition of his contributions to music, he was honoured with the Pride of Performance award. Additionally, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan received the UNESCO Music Prize and the Legends award at the UK Asian Music Awards in 2005.
Although he passed away in London on August 16, 1997, his music continues to live on in the hearts of his millions of fans worldwide.
