His voice gave out during sound check, but to his surprise, Junaid Jamshed showed up and offered words of encouragement, telling them, “You guys are great.”

Kapadia shared fond memories of his bond with Junaid, noting that they both learned from the same teacher, Ustaad Chahat Hussain Khan Sahib. He described Junaid as his classical music partner, with whom he would often listen to long pieces like Raga Darbari. Their shared passion for music created a strong connection between them.

Strings, initially formed in Karachi in 1988 by Bilal Maqsood, Faisal Kapadia, Rafiq Wazir Ali, and Kareem Bashir Bhoy, went on to achieve legendary status in Pakistan’s music industry.
