Veteran Pakistani actress Fazila Qazi criticized the distribution of Presidential Awards, accusing the process of favoring personal connections over merit. She voiced these concerns during an appearance on Tabish Hashmi’s show Hansna Mana Hai with her husband, actor Qaiser Nizamani.

She sarcastically remarked that she was thankful her husband received the Presidential Award during a time when awards were granted based solely on an artist’s work, not on recommendations.

Qazi also shared that files are compiled for artists being considered for the award, but hers has been sitting idle for five years. She expressed her frustration with the authorities, accusing them of neglecting hardworking artists.
