Indian Influencer Criticizes mawra’s Bridal Look

Shortly after the wedding, Indian fashion influencer Sufi Motiwala sparked controversy by criticizing Mawra’s bridal outfit.

In a video, he labeled the lehenga fabric as “tacky” and “questionable,” adding, “This is what happens when you live in a world without Sabyasachi and Manish Malhotra.”

His remarks quickly drew reactions from fashion enthusiasts and industry insiders.

Pakistani stylist Zahra Sarfraz fired back, calling Sufi’s perspective “tacky” for limiting fashion appreciation to a few designers.

“What I find truly tacky is living outside the world of originality, sticking to two to three designers, making yourself feel better with that one label,” she countered in a response video.

She further educated the influencer’s audience about the sentimental value behind Mawra’s wedding attire, explaining that the Sanam Teri Kasam actor had built her entire bridal look around her mother-in-law’s dupatta.
