Pakistani Celebs Show Love for Bombay Bakery

As India-Pakistan tensions rise, a century-old bakery in Hyderabad, Sindh—Bombay Bakery—has emerged as a powerful symbol of unity and nostalgia. Known for its iconic coffee cake and run by a Hindu family, the bakery has drawn national affection, especially after BJP workers in India vandalized Karachi Bakery for its name.

Pakistani celebrities like Deepak Perwani and Sajal Ali actively expressed their views. Deepak condemned the attack, highlighting Pakistan’s respectful coexistence: “We have Bombay Bakery, Bombay Sweets… No one touches their shops. Shameful behavior.” His words doubled as a critique of intolerance and a tribute to Pakistan’s syncretic culture.

Sajal shared a more poetic take: “In a world full of noise, love and kindness remain the only truth.” While subtle, her message resonated with a public eager to respond to hate with dignity.

Social media users echoed these sentiments, celebrating Bombay Bakery as more than a bakery—it’s a legacy of shared taste and peaceful coexistence in Pakistan.
