Tauqeer Nasir Accuses Shah Rukh Khan of Copying His Roles

In an interview, Tauqeer Nasir discussed his admiration for Shah Rukh Khan’s talent but lamented the lack of recognition for his own work, which he feels has been mirrored in Khan’s movies. Nasir specifically mentioned Shah Rukh Khan’s role in the film “Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna,” asserting that it closely resembles his character from the Pakistani drama “Parwaaz.” He highlighted striking similarities, such as the detail of an injured leg, which he claims was directly lifted from his portrayal.

Nasir further elaborated that “Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna,” directed by Karan Johar, seemed to draw heavily from the storyline of “Parwaaz,” written by renowned author Mustansar Hussain Tarar. He expressed his disappointment that neither Shah Rukh Khan nor Karan Johar gave any credit to him or the original drama for this inspiration.

Unacknowledged Contributions

Tauqeer Nasir also shared his thoughts on his career and his potential crossover into Bollywood. Despite receiving several offers to act in Bollywood films, he recalled a particular project with Madhuri Dixit that, unfortunately, did not materialize. Nasir’s comments reflects concern about the lack of recognition and respect for his contributions to the arts, both in his home country and beyond.
