Mawra Hocane Slams Harshvardhan Rane: ‘Don’t Use War for Personal Gain’

Actress Mawra Hocane strongly hit back at her Sanam Teri Kasam co-star Harshvardhan Rane after he declared he wouldn’t join the film’s sequel if she were cast.

Rane posted Instagram stories criticizing Hocane’s response to India’s recent military action, saying he would decline Sanam Teri Kasam 2 if the original cast returned. In response, Hocane slammed him on her Instagram story, accusing him of using war for publicity.

“I don’t know whether to call this sad or comical… someone I expected to have basic common sense has risen from deep slumber with a PR strategy,” she wrote, urging him to consider the real-world suffering caused by recent violence.

Condemning his timing, she said, “While our nations are at war, this is what you come up with? A PR statement for attention?” She defended her professionalism, adding, “I’ve always shown respect and gratitude to everyone I’ve worked with.”

Hocane called his announcement “shameful and bizarre,” accusing him of exploiting conflict for headlines. She ended her statement by reaffirming her priorities: “My country above everything else! Pakistan Zindabad,” and said her prayers remain with civilians and Pakistani soldiers—not film projects.
