Ushna Shah Reveals Her Early Disconnect with Pakistani Entertainment

Ushna Shah, a well-known actress, model, and host, has made a significant mark in the entertainment industry. Coming from a prominent showbiz family, with both her mother and sister being celebrated figures in the field, Ushna Shah’s journey into acting was highly anticipated. Despite her family background, Ushna’s entry into the Pakistani drama scene came with its own set of challenges.

In a recent interview, Ushna Shah shared her experiences about her early days in the Pakistani drama industry and her struggle with the Urdu language. She revealed that, at the start of her career, she faced a significant disconnect with both the industry and the language. Ushna admitted that she did not know many Pakistani actors and was unfamiliar with the Urdu language, which was a barrier in her professional interactions.

Her friend and colleague, Ahsan Khan, who has worked with her on dramas like Bandhay Ik Dor Se, was a guest on her show. Ushna recalled how Ahsan playfully called her out for not recognizing him, which highlighted her lack of familiarity with Pakistani actors and the industry. Ahsan later learned that Ushna had been raised in Canada and, as a result, had limited exposure to Pakistani media, including her own family’s work.
