Technology entrepreneur and cryptocurrency advocate Waqar Zaka has announced that the luxury Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon he recently won in an international trading competition will not remain in his garage for long. Instead, he plans to sell the vehicle and use the money to help talented Pakistani students pursue higher education.
Zaka shared the announcement shortly after securing first place in the WEEX TradFi Masters, an international solo trading competition that attracted more than 3,000 participants from around the world. While many expected him to celebrate the win by keeping the coveted prize, Zaka revealed that his focus had never been on the luxury SUV.
"I’m not into cars. What mattered to me was finishing number one," he wrote in a post on Instagram, explaining that the achievement itself meant far more to him than the vehicle.
According to Zaka, once the 2026 Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon is officially transferred to his name, he intends to put it up for sale. The proceeds, he said, will be directed toward creating educational opportunities for exceptionally talented but financially disadvantaged Pakistanis.
He explained that the initiative would focus on individuals with outstanding potential in mathematics, science and research, as well as students who earn admission to prestigious institutions such as Stanford University or Ivy League universities but are unable to continue their education because of financial constraints.
Describing the plan, Zaka emphasized that the money would not be distributed as charity. Instead, he intends to invest it in academic testing, scholarships and programs designed to identify and support individuals capable of making significant contributions in science, technology and research.
In his message, he expressed hope that such investments could one day help produce internationally recognized researchers, innovators and even Pakistan's future Nobel Prize winners.
