Emmad Irfani Calls Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum a Career Milestone

On Thursday night, Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum actor Emmad Irfani appeared on a talk show with host Waseem Badami and remained candid, calm, and composed, especially when the conversation turned to co-star Naeema Butt’s recent comments about the hit drama.

“I don’t know what her experience was like,” Emmad said. “For me, Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum was the highlight of my career. Whether it was Javed Sheikh, Bushra Ansari, or Fahad Mustafa—who I played brothers with—our relationship started to resemble sibling bonds on and off-screen.”

Emmad’s words contrasted with Naeema’s comments. In a separate interview, Naeema, who portrayed Rubab in the drama, criticized the industry’s “fake friendships” and shared that her behind-the-scenes experience didn’t align with the warmth shown on social media.

Emmad, however, offered a more diplomatic view of the entertainment industry. “Everyone has insecurities and fears. Our goal should be to overcome them,” he explained.

He quickly clarified that this was his personal view, saying, “I can’t speak on behalf of anyone else. I can only speak for myself.”

Emmad praised his colleagues and the material he worked with, recalling, “I had very challenging scenes with Hania Aamir and Naeema. But if someone asked if I would do it all over again, I absolutely would.”

Naeema, on the other hand, had a different perspective. During a recent appearance on Gup Shab, she expressed frustration with the “not-so-glamorous side of stardom.” She described the friendships seen on Instagram as “fake” and revealed that she felt sidelined during public appearances, even claiming some tried to push her off the stage. Though she didn’t name names, the implications were clear.

Despite the off-screen drama, Naeema’s performance as Rubab remains a fan favorite, and many online have praised her for her honesty in speaking out. Other cast members, including Bushra and Hania, have not publicly addressed the growing conversation, although Hania previously complimented Naeema’s performance on Instagram.

Whether Naeema’s experience was isolated or part of a broader pattern in the industry, her comments have sparked a deeper discussion about authenticity behind the scenes. As Emmad noted, each actor’s truth may differ, and both perspectives can coexist—even if uncomfortably.
