Actor Arjumand Rahim has opened up about experiencing severe anxiety, depression and panic attacks following her father’s sudden death from cardiac arrest in 2006.
During a recent interview, she said therapy, psychiatric treatment and medication gradually helped her recover. Arjumand encouraged people to recognise mental health concerns, prioritise their well-being and spend meaningful time with family.
She also discussed her acting career, saying she has often been typecast in similar roles and would like to portray more diverse characters. The actor criticised poor planning and time management in Pakistan’s entertainment industry and called for meaningful dramas that combine strong messages with engaging storytelling.
