Mawra Hocane Shares Her Two Dream Jobs

Mawra Hocane embraced the spotlight on Something Haute with Hassan Choudary, where she passionately shared her love for two favorite jobs: babysitting and acting.

“These two jobs, babysitting and acting, are my favorite in the world,” Mawra revealed during the conversation.

When Hassan Choudary inquired about her legal background, she candidly admitted, “I couldn’t pursue my degree, unfortunately. Five years ago, I was overly ambitious and thought I could balance both. But I realized that to excel in any field, you need to dedicate yourself fully. If I ever decide to become a lawyer, I’ll need to commit as much as I do to acting, which means leaving acting behind.”

Confirming her educational milestone, Mawra added, “Yes, I completed my law degree and was supposed to take my bar exam abroad.” She expressed her intent to pursue it someday, saying, “I need about nine weeks in London to complete the bar. Whenever I find the time—hopefully between August and October—I’ll do it because I love studying.”

Reflecting on her acting journey, Mawra described the challenges of embodying Anaya in Sabaat. “It was a painful process since I was nothing like Anaya. When a character is far removed from who you are, it takes a long time to connect as an actor,” she explained.

The Neem actress also voiced her frustration about being labeled a “social media queen” instead of being celebrated for her acting talent. “A huge part of my work in Pakistan has been shaped by the audience, yet I felt heartbroken for not receiving due recognition as an actor. While critics outside Pakistan praised my performances, intros here often began with ‘social media queen’ or ‘sensation’ rather than highlighting my acting,” she concluded.
